Our Values

Elevators and escalators made tall buildings possible, and tall buildings gave rise to the cities that house over half the world’s population today. Despite the many changes to our urban landscape over the past decades, Jardine Schindler Group’s (JSG) values and ambitions remain constant.

Commitment to people development is one of our five core values. Jardine Schindler believes our per-ception as a valuable partner for customers can only be achieved through talented, engaged and skilled employees. We develop our people to effectively understand our customers’ needs and tailor the most efficient solutions from our innovative products and services portfolio. We empower our people at all levels of the organization to develop leadership and decision-making skills in order to shape the compa-ny’s successful future. JSG nurtures a culture where passion, ambition and collaboration are the key enablers of its people.

Other than people development, we also place a strong focus on integrity and trust, creating value for customers, quality, and safety. These core values are the cornerstones of our business, and are absolute and non-negotiable. Everyone in JSG has a permanent commitment to these values and contribute to improving the fulfilment of them every day.

#JSGCares – Happiness. Connection. Belonging.

For Jardine Schindler Group, our employees’ wellbeing continues to be the priority which defines our actions and strategies. At JSG we want to create an environment where people thrive, feel connected and find purpose.

With this intention, we have launched various initiatives under #JSGCares, including: employee engage-ment surveys, remote work policy, wellbeing media resources, corporate social responsibility projects, inclusion and diversity, and many more.

Employee Engagement

As Jardine Schindler continues to adapt to COVID-19, we have to adjust and react quickly. Now more than ever, we believe it is critical to gain our employees’ feedback, to discover ways in coping with the new challenges we are facing.

To ensure we continuously elevate the employee experience, JSG conducts the Schindler Employee Engagement Survey (SEES) on a biannual basis. This is further supplemented by quarterly pulse checks, to better understand the teams’ wellness and wellbeing.

Through last year’s results, three focus areas have been defined: “Happiness – Employee wellbeing in the future of work”, “Pride – Proud to be successful at JSG”, “Connection – Collaboration and community belonging”. Since the completion of the survey, SEES Ambassadors have emerged from around our organization, to take ownership in the implementation of the key focus areas. For example, we have launched regular wellness workshops, built up a series of #MyJSGStories about our employee journeys, provided regular opportunities for employees to interact with senior leadership through digital means. The SEES ambas-sadors are great reminders that our employees have the chance to be heard and make the changes that they want to be seen.

Safeguarding our Employees against COVID-18

Jardine Schindler strives to create an environment for employees to take ownership for their health and wellbeing, enabling them to be at their best for customers.

Catalysed by the pandemic, JSG has been in the process of rolling out a long-term remote work policy for our office-based employees. We have also made large strides in the provision of personal protection equipment, including production and supply of our own masks, consistent procurement of hand sanitiz-ers. The team goes the extra mile to distribute care packages (mask keepers, herbal drinks coupons, management messages, reusable mask, etc), promote flu vaccination, and even collaborated with Man-nings to provide health consultations for our staff.

With this, JSG hopes to develop a healthier and flexible working environment and promote work-life bal-ance, foster inclusion and diversity, and motivate and engage employees.

Inclusion & Diversity

At Jardine Schindler, we strongly believe in fostering inclusive leadership to attract, develop, and ad-vance a diverse talent pool which boosts innovation and business performance.

Since the beginning of 2021, we have made large strides in this space. Our inclusion and diversity (I&D) governance is now set up. Through a series of workshops, our management team has identified focuses in gender diversity (especially for frontline team members), disabilities, harassment, working parents, and diversity in recruitment.

Further to this, the JSG I&D Council is now set up to articulate the overall vision for I&D at our organiza-tion. Committees and Employee Networks will soon follow to create more programs and platforms. In the meantime, JSG will continue to maintain momentum in this space, through our newly launched anti-discrimination e-learning, competency-based interviews for bias reduction, quarterly I&D celebrations, and many more activities.

Supporting Our Community

Corporate Social Responsibility is an integral part of "who we are". Jardine Schindler’s constant en-deavor is to make a difference to the lives of our Employees, Customers and the Community we live in, and in turn, make "Schindler Your First Choice". Over the last few months, we have rolled out various CSR initiatives. For example, we organized a virtual quiz competition between our colleagues, to encourage interdepartmental communication. More than 110 colleagues tuned in to support the teams. JSG matched the number of colleagues who watched the event and donated HK$100 per head to Mindset, a charity dedicated to mental health. Another great ex-ample is our Chinese New Year Surplus Donation. We encouraged staff to donate food, toys, red pack-et, home appliance and electronic devices. By giving unwanted items a second life, they can make a meaningful difference in another person’s life.

At Jardine Schindler, we are proud to make a positive impact to the communities in which we live and operate.
