Lee Kum Kee was founded in 1888 by Mr. Lee Kum Sheung. With a history of 133 years spanning three centuries, today Lee Kum Kee is an international household brand specialising in Chinese sauces and condiments, as well as “a symbol of quality and trust”. Lee Kum Kee, as a multinational corporation celebrated for quality and trusted by customers, offers over 200 types of sauce and condiment to over 100 countries and regions worldwide.

Lee Kum Kee substantiates its core values of Pragmatism, Integrity, Constant Entrepreneurship, “Si Li Ji Ren” (Considering Others’ Interests), Benefitting the Community and Sharing Fruits of Success—which guide and underpin every aspect of its business operations. Lee Kum Kee’s six production bases are located in Hong Kong, where its headquarters also are, Xinhui, Huangpu and Jining, China; Los Angeles, USA; and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. To ensure safety and quality from farm to fork, Lee Kum Kee keeps a scrupulous eye on all areas of business, covering raw materials, R&D, production, logistics, sales and marketing.

We Invest in Talent Development

Lee Kum Kee firmly believes that its employees are the driving force of sustainable development. To achieve our strategic goals, we attract, develop, motivate and retain talent by putting the best HR management practices in place. We offer regional exposure, learning and development opportunities and education subsidies to our employees for them to acquire the knowledge and skills they need. We also provide multifaceted leadership training for supervisory and managerial staff to groom them for greater responsibilities.

In order to help new employees gain a thorough understanding of the Group’s businesses and product quality philosophy, and familiarise them with the corporate culture, we have designed a comprehensive orientation programme, which includes a two-day “multisensory” corporate culture trip to our largest production base located in Xinhui, China.

Lee Kum Kee offers a two-year Management Trainee Programme which attracts high-calibre graduate applicants from local and overseas universities every year. In addition to personal coaching by the top management team, the comprehensive training programme provides the trainees with opportunity for overseas attachments and involvement in large-scale corporate events. The trainees are able to gain an in-depth understanding of the company and build a solid foundation for their future career development.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been tough on companies globally, but despite the many challenges, Lee Kum Kee continues to support communities and our employees worldwide, and deliver an exceptional work experience by bringing in innovative initiatives. The ‘Best Companies to Work for in Asia’ award is a great recognition of our dedication and efforts, and we’re honoured to receive the title for the fifth consecutive year.

Mr. Derek Wu, Executive Vice President – Global Human Resources

We Care About Our People

We endeavour to make Lee Kum Kee a second home for our employees. Dedicated as we are to creating a caring workplace, building a high level of trust and cultivating a strong sense of belonging, our employees continued to achieve outstanding results in the grip of the COVID-19 pandemic. To maintain business resilience and productivity during the outbreak, Lee Kum Kee has rolled out a series of effective management measures and encouraged more cross-functional and cross-regional collaborations. We also take the health of our employees very seriously; stringent measures have been implemented to ensure the wellbeing of our employees. We introduced working from home arrangements to prevent infection. Despite the physical distance, specially curated wellness activities and useful health tips were never short in supply to motivate our employees to embrace a healthy, active lifestyle.
To put the core values of “Si Li Ji Ren” and “Benefitting the Community” into practice, Lee Kum Kee encourages its employees to take part in volunteer work and charity events to help the people in need in the community.

At Lee Kum Kee, internal communication is an all-important thing; we make sure our employees feel safe to voice their views and concerns. To facilitate transparent and effective communication, a number of internal channels are in place, such as employee engagement surveys, mass communication sessions for staff worldwide, Intranet updates as well as corporate publications.

We offer an extensive range of staff benefits, such as insurance, medical coverage, maternity and paternity leave, and other family-friendly leave arrangements. In addition, a wealth of individual and team recognitions are awarded every year to recognise outstanding performances and celebrate remarkable achievements.
