About E Ink

E Ink is the leading global development and supplier of ePaper technology. The technology has been extensively applied for decades in everyday applications such as eReaders, eNotebooks, electronic shelf labels (ESL), dual-screen smartphones or back covers, wearable devices, logistics tags, smart cards, and digital signage. It has even been used to create dynamic art installations, building designs, as well as surfaces and environments that people have never even dreamed of before. We hope that energy-saving ePaper with a paper-like texture can be used to realize all the creativity in every field and industry. Smart Office and People-centric Technology

Protect the Environment by Eschewing Paper
Environmentally friendly, healthy, and eye-safe ePaper is used extensively throughout our office environments. These include ePaper posters, ePaper signs, and reception information cards. Even the nameplates on office desks, employee ID badges, employee parking permits, and the office Christmas tree are made from ePaper.

High-Tech Epidemic Protection to Keep Employees Safe
A three-pronged strategy based around “advanced deployment, concentric circles of epidemic prevention, and E Ink Care You” was developed. The advanced deployment included: Adjustment of personnel management and office seating, monitoring of domestic/foreign COVID-19 developments, the establishment of a real-time messaging network for all departments, and internal contact tracing survey; Concentric circles of epidemic prevention: 4 levels of epidemic transmission were simulated as concentric circles to ensure that all necessary planning and preparations were in place; E Ink Care You issued each employee with one mask weekly and set up backup work from home plans. All of these measures helped ensure that there were 0 cases of COVID-19 among employees in Taiwan!

Ergonomic and Friendly Working Environment
E Ink created an ergonomic and friendly working environment. The office building was renovated to offer new, well-lit office spaces; women-friendly spaces: Female employees (including pregnant employees) were provided with guaranteed parking spaces, separate breastfeeding rooms, childbirth grants, and new mother packs; compensation that exceeds industry standards: According to publicly available information on the TWSE, our average employee salary in 2019 was ranked 4th among listed opto-electronic companies at NT$1,186,000. This was higher than the industry average of NT$806,000 and higher than the average salary of NT$818,000 reported for listed opto-electronic companies.

Intelligent Learning and Diversified Development

e-Training and Continuous Learning
E Ink continues to promote learning and self-growth among employees. Since E Ink University was established in 2019, the proportion of online courses has increased from 40% (2019) to 90% (2020). Online learning offers a variety of benefits, including paperlessness, flexibility in learning hours, and immunity to COVID-19 restrictions. During 2020, more than 12,115 internal training hours were conducted by E Ink.

Professional Training Blueprint to Strengthen Professional Skills
Basic and advanced professional courses were developed to provide each role with a tailored blueprint for training. An extensive range of professional learning resources helped inspire creativity while also boosting the technical competitiveness of the whole company; a total of 212 courses were conducted in 2020, with over 9,250 hours of training provided to 9,588 people.

Sharing of Global Learning Resources and Potential Development
In 2020 E Ink University Global was established to develop and promote basic courses common to different sites. All global locations can share the learning and training resources from each site as well. Current courses included electronic film technology, Python, and cross-cultural communications. Over 2,854 hours of training were provided to 1,163 people. At the same time, employees with development potential are selected to participate in the Stanford LEAD online learning program. Those who participated in this program find it very helpful by expanding and cultivating international perspectives and corporate strategic thinking.

Club activities, Health Promotion and work-life balance
Employees are encouraged to join or set up clubs. Currently we have 9 clubs and over 300 employees have participated in relevant activities. We also conduct weight-losing classes, health promotion, and health examination activities every year. Through various approaches we promote physical and mental well-being through proper leisure activities. The linking of work and interests encourage employees to enjoy and take pride in their work.

Social Engagement and E-Read the Future
The mission of the “E-Read the Future” program is the creation of mobile eBook libraries and is now in its 4th year (2020). The donation of eReaders and eBook collections to local students in partnership with ecosystem partners has been very well received. NT$42.6 million has been donated to date. Over 250 employees contributed to the program which has so far donated 1,166 eReaders and more than 93,800 eBooks.

科技防疫、保護同仁
從超前部署、防疫同心圓、E Ink Care you三大面向著手保護我們的同仁。我們除了調整人員管理辦公室座位、監控疫情、建立即時通訊聯絡網及防疫足跡問卷系統;還以同心圓概念進行4級疫情擴散情境模擬,做好萬全準備與規劃;另外提供每位同仁每週一片口罩、居家工作備援方案。這些措施造就了台灣區同仁零案例的成績!
