Our activities include marketing, partnering projects and clinical researches. The company has contributed to patients’ needs in Thailand since 1971, first through the parent companies, Ciba-Geigy and Sandoz, and subsequently through the merged entity, Novartis. Throughout the years, Novartis (Thailand) Limited and its predecessor companies have provided many innovative products that treat illness and create a high quality of life for Thai patients.

People & Culture

To “ Unleash the power of our people ” is one of the key priority that help us fulfill our company purpose of reimagining medicine. We are changing the way we work to unleash the talent and creativity of our people. We aim to make our culture a driver of innovation, performance and reputation, and a source of sustainable competitive advantage.

Cultural transformation means ensuring employees feel inspired by our purpose. We want them to be constantly curious about new ideas that can improve health outcomes for patients, physicians and society as a whole. And we strive to create an “unbossed” culture in which leaders are encouraged to serve their teams, remove obstacles, and empower people to attain their personal and professional ambitions.

To support this transformation, our goal is to attract, develop and promote highly talented people who embody the new culture, and to build a diverse and inclusive workforce text so we can tap the broadest possible range of skills, experiences and backgrounds.

To further unbossing our organization, we reimagine ‘how we work’ with the recent announcement of Choice with Responsibility . Our flexibility policy formally shifts from manager-approved to manager-informed for all office-based associates around the world. Associates now have more choice about how, when and where they work, as well as the responsibility to keep managers informed and to align with teammates and stakeholders to ensure high-impact collaboration.

More importantly, we work to promote the well-being of our associates and strengthen our company’s culture to support our ability to execute our strategy. Our Energized for Life initiatives , including programs to improve employees’ health and well-being. For example, we initiated the “Care package” which includes surgical masks, alcohol-based hand sanitizers as, alcohol wipe and also vitamin during pandemic. We started rolling out mindfulness and mental health support program to employees and their family members. In addition, we also provide an “Energized for Life Benefits” in order to support the expenses on associates’ health and wellness including their family members and life partners regardless of gender.

It is our great honor to be recognized as one of the Best Companies to Work For in two consecutive years. At Novartis, we value our people as our greatest asset. That’s why we create an environment that encourages INSPIRED, CURIOUS & UNBOSSED culture to empower them to achieve their personal and professional goals. This award is a testament that we are on the right path and a strong motivation to achieve our purpose of reimagining medicine for Thai patients.

Employee Treatment

To treat our associates fairly and respectfully is one of the commitments in our Code of Ethics which defines the important standards for doing business at Novartis and provides the foundation for our long-term success as a company
  • Fair working conditions : We commit to provide our associates fair and competitive wages based on performance and ethical conduct.
  • Diversity and inclusion : We treat our associates fairly, equally and respectfully. We therefore attract, develop and retain highly talented people with diverse backgrounds and inclusive mindsets. For example, 98-days paid parental leave for both parents, this includes the support for marriage, new born baby and baby delivery assistance. In addition, we also extend the Religious Observance Leave for 15 days for everyone regardless of religion.
  • Associate appraisal and development : Constructive dialogue between the associate and supervisor is an essential part of the Novartis Performance Management Process which considers both achievement on objectives and the Novartis Values and Behaviors. We offer opportunities for our associates to develop, grow and continuously improve individual skills to strengthen the competencies of Novartis as a whole.
  • Freedom of opinion, speech and association : We respect the right of associates to choose to join an association, provided that local law is respected. We recognize that every associate is entitled to freedom of opinion, expression and speech, provided these do not interfere with the associate’s ability to fulfill their job responsibilities or conflict with the Novartis Code of Ethics.

Putting Patient First

We are also committed to be a trusted partner in Thai healthcare and society.
  • Supporting Thai patients during COVID-19. As patients’ hospital visits and interactions with healthcare professionals are limited during the disease outbreak, Novartis provided donation to the Thai Breast Cancer Community (TBCC) to create digital educational platforms. TBCC Breast Care chat bot and Facebook LIVE were then created to be trusted sources of knowledge for patients and caregivers to be able look after themselves and their love ones.
  • Disease awareness program . ‘Colors of Cancer’ is a patient centric disease awareness program which is one of the Reimagine Cancer Campaign that encouraged positive attitudes towards battling cancer via awareness-raising art exhibition by celebrities and artists as well as educational sessions by medical experts and patient advocacy groups.
